If you have a white substance that has accumulated on your faucet or showerhead, it’s probably mineral deposits from your water.
Fill a plastic bag with a cup of vinegar and place the bag over the showerhead, kept in place overnight with a twist tie. During the night, the acidity in the vinegar will react with the minerals, allowing you to scrape them off with a toothbrush the next morning. But the uses of vinegar don’t stop there.
Make your own, all-natural toilet disinfectant.
Vinegar is also a main ingredient in a homemade cleansing formula that eliminates both germs and odors. Mix one cup of distilled white vinegar with half a teaspoon of tea tree essential oil in a spray bottle, which you’ll spray inside the bowl and on the toilet surfaces (seat, lid, and handle). A few minutes later, sprinkle half a cup of baking soda into the bowl, and scrub this area with a toilet brush. Then wipe the seat, lid, and handle with a dry cloth.
Sanitize Your Bathroom Floor.
This formula works on ceramic tile, vinyl, laminate or hardwood floors, making it suitable for rooms beyond the bathroom. All it takes is a bucket of hot water, to which you’ll add a quarter of a cup of white vinegar and 15 drops of any essential oil, such as tea tree essential oil.
Sometimes, though, it takes a lot more than vinegar to get your bathroom and the rest of your house clean.
