Of all the household chores necessary to keep your home sanitary, few are more important (or less enjoyable) than cleaning the bathroom. Getting down on your hands and knees to scrub a toilet or clean any other area of a bathroom is no one’s idea of fun, but you can escape the tedium with help from Busy Bee Cleaning Co. Our home cleaning services, available in the Berwyn, PA area, can give your bathroom a thorough cleaning.

But if you’re planning on some DIY cleaning, you can accomplish a lot with ordinary household items. Vinegar, for example, can be as useful in the bathroom as it is in the kitchen. Here are some ways vinegar can come in handy during a bathroom cleaning:

Clean mineral deposits from your showerhead and faucet.

If you have a white substance that has accumulated on your faucet or showerhead, it’s probably mineral deposits from your water.

Fill a plastic bag with a cup of vinegar and place the bag over the showerhead, kept in place overnight with a twist tie. During the night, the acidity in the vinegar will react with the minerals, allowing you to scrape them off with a toothbrush the next morning. But the uses of vinegar don’t stop there.

Make your own, all-natural toilet disinfectant.

Vinegar is also a main ingredient in a homemade cleansing formula that eliminates both germs and odors. Mix one cup of distilled white vinegar with half a teaspoon of tea tree essential oil in a spray bottle, which you’ll spray inside the bowl and on the toilet surfaces (seat, lid, and handle). A few minutes later, sprinkle half a cup of baking soda into the bowl, and scrub this area with a toilet brush. Then wipe the seat, lid, and handle with a dry cloth.

Sanitize Your Bathroom Floor.

This formula works on ceramic tile, vinyl, laminate or hardwood floors, making it suitable for rooms beyond the bathroom. All it takes is a bucket of hot water, to which you’ll add a quarter of a cup of white vinegar and 15 drops of any essential oil, such as tea tree essential oil.

Sometimes, though, it takes a lot more than vinegar to get your bathroom and the rest of your house clean.
